Austin traffic is about to get busy. Summer is by no means over, but summer break is coming to an end, and that means the end of "light" traffic in Austin.
I know it's bad even in the summer, but if you're new to the area, you're in for a rude awakening!
Even this week it has gotten heavier, but you can expect your drive time to double, if not triple in some cases, especially if there's a wreck.
Hopefully my tweets help save you some time. I'm constantly posting breaking traffic updates @ericaharpold and you can report traffic issues to me too. If it's really bad, I'll post it on my Facebook page, but for the most part I use that to post personal fun stuff.
If you become one of my regular Twitter followers and tell me about your commute, I'll often times tweet directly to you if there's a problem on your route.
I strongly encourage you to adjust your route, leave earlier if you can, because even a 15 minute difference can be a big one.
